WHAT I BELIEVE IN
I wholeheartedly believe an elected official is placed in office to SERVE the people, not a particular party or political platform. I can not promise to change the games that are played in Madison but I can guarantee I will stand strong and honor the wishes of my constituents. If elected, I will be the voice of the 72nd above all else, all the time.
As a former educator, I have observed both the highs and lows of our educational system. Appropriate funding for our public schools is essential to the future of all Wisconsinites. Diminishing budgets, cutting corners, and reducing class options directly impact student's ability to become well-rounded individuals and to perform at exceptional levels. Wisconsin needs to place education funding back at the top of the priority list.
CLEAN WATER & PROTECTING NATURAL RESOURCES
Wisconsin was once looked to as the leader in natural resource conservation and protection. Growing up around water and in the outdoors has given me a deep appreciation for the vast beauty our state has to offer. Unfortunately, we have turned away from protecting these resources, and families and communities are suffering because of it. Clean water, pristine state parks, and healthy hunting and fishing environments bring revenue to our communities. Protecting our natural resources is key to a thriving state economy.
RESPONSIBLE AGRICULTURE & RURAL COMMUNITIES
Wisconsin is proud to be the Dairy State. The proud heritage of family-run farms has long formed the backbone of our rural communities and those roots run deep. Unfortunately, we have observed their devastating decline with 10% of our family farms closing their doors this past year. It is essential that our state come together with local food suppliers and farmers to support the competitiveness and sustainability of rural and farm economies. We need all stakeholders at the table to devise a workable and reasonable solution to this increasing crisis.
Serving in the armed forces in defense of our freedom is a selfless and honorable act for one's country. I believe it is only appropriate and justified to ensure that our veterans have the needed services and attention they require when they return from duty and move forward into life as a civilian. When faced with legislation that will impact veterans in this state I will diligently investigate its merit and reach out to those who will be directly impacted for their thoughts and input.
BUSINESS & LABOR
Industry, small business, union trades, and non-union companies, all have a place here in Wisconsin. I look forward to working with fellow legislators to increase job opportunities in Wisconsin, to promote the growth of employment options that provide living wages and sustainable income to the working families of our state.
I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU
As I work to be your voice for the 72nd I am interested in hearing from you. What concerns or ideas do you have for our District? Please do not hesitate to reach out with your thoughts and suggestions.
